Previous | Home | NextThis an early photograph showing the octagonal building (Abbot's Kitchen) on this (southeast) corner of the Main Building. This was the first chemistry laboratory at the Gilmorehill when the University moved to this site in 1870. An obstructed photograph from this vantage point can no longer be taken, because the James Watt Building (resting on the site of the original chemistry laboratory) blocks the view. The view is northwest.
